As the Principal of Buckley Lawyers, Matthew has extensive experience in dealing with family law, civil and commercial litigation matters. Prior to establishing Buckley Lawyers, Matthew practiced as a lawyer for a prominent national law firm managing the Sydney practice. His experiences saw him travelling extensively throughout the country representing clients in city and regional courts across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

Matthew has built a strong reputation representing clients in all courts throughout New South Wales including the Supreme Court of NSW, and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia in complex property settlements, parenting matters involving contravention applications, recovery and relocation orders, and departure orders under section 117 of the Child Support (Assessment) Act.

Matthew has a successful track record for consistently achieving positive outcomes for high net worth clients in matters involving family trusts, business partnerships, self-managed super funds and overseas property interests. Matthew brings a personalised approach to advising clients and is a natural advocate in the court room. He is also a strong communicator and is a Nationally Accredited Mediator. His experience in being able to approach disputes practically and being able to focus on the key issues at hand has resulted in more than 90% of his mediations being resolved by mutual agreement.

Outside of running a busy law practice, Matthew is heavily involved in the community and is a mentor with the Big Buddy program that assists boys who do not have a father in their lives. He is also a rugby union referee for the NSW Referees Association.
