Before founding Buckley Lawyers, Matthew held a senior role at a prominent national law firm, where he successfully managed the firm’s Sydney practice. This experience provided a strong foundation for what has become one of New South Wales’ most trusted boutique firms.

Matthew has built a reputation for excellence in representing clients in courts across New South Wales, including the Supreme Court of NSW and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. He is particularly well-regarded for handling complex financial disputes involving family trusts, business partnerships, self-managed super funds, and international property interests.

As a Nationally Accredited Mediator, Matthew has a proven track record in alternative dispute resolution. His ability to distil disputes to their core issues and facilitate productive dialogue has resulted in over 90% of mediations being resolved by mutual agreement — a testament to his skill as both a communicator and negotiator.
